Loligo is a genus of squid and it is one of the most representative and widely distributed groups of myopsid squid. After catching, these Loligo squids are immediately frozen to maximize the freshness and optimize the texture. Loligo has a mild, subtle flavour, low-medium oiliness, and is dry with firm texture. The flesh is translucent when raw and white when cooked. Additionally, Loligo squid contains huge source of protein, iron, vitamin B-12, and selenium, but low in calories and fat which is really good for your health.
