Conch is mollusk, a marine snails that build elaborate shells as a home and a form of protection from predators, in which the outer whorl of the shell is broadly triangular in outline and has a wide lip, often jutting toward the apex. These sea snails can be found in shallow waters in the Caribbean where they grow and mate. Conchs weigh about two pounds when fully mature - this happens over a three-year period. Annually, it increases its shell size by three inches and the lifespan of this creature is approximated from six to ten years.
The taste of the conch depends much on how it is prepared. Commonly, the conch has a salty and bland taste. Its texture though is rubbery and soft when chewed, and it has a flavor profile of crab with hints of salmon.
