Basa (Pangasius bocourti) is a species of catfish in the family Pangasiidae. Basa are native to the Mekong and Chao Phraya basins in Mainland Southeast Asia. After caught in the waters of Vietnam, it has been processed and cleaned, then immediately frozen to maximize the freshness and optimize the texture. Basa fish is slightly sweet and mild in flavor. When cooked, it is moist and white in color with a delicate texture. Basa fillets contain no bones and make a pleasant light meal. Additionally, this catfish member is extremely nutritious.
